Yachts in Normandy

Upon visiting this quaint town, the artist was so taken with the contrasting colors of the blue sea and white boats & houses, that he painted this rich scene of the Yachts in Normandy, France with a palette knife. This is just as he saw it.

Influenced by the master works of renowned artists such as Rembrandt, Velasces, Van Deik, France Hals and fellow countrymen Vrubel & Serov, Mr. Segal has embarked on an a new method for his work; pallet knife painting, directly on canvas, “I use the pallet knife in combination with a brush because combining heavy texture that only the knife can create with applied brush transparent paint gives my work a greater feeling of aliveness with the images.
