Sabzi shows a deep admiration for woman in his art & he shows love, friendship & romance within them. There is a lively mix of patterns, in the background & on the clothing; they all work together beautifully to create his lovely paintings.
I once asked Sabzi how he was able to achieve the mix of patterns so beautifully & he said he grew up with a rich Persian heritage, his parents were Persian rug weavers, & he enjoys recreating sentimental Persian themes & memories of innocence in his paintings. He is also inspired by the modernism of Cezanne & Matisse. -
